Which follows is a more self-indulgent exercise, as travel writer Tahir
Shah pursues a dream to uncover Paititi, legendary lost city of the
Incas rumoured to lie deep in the heart of the Amazon jungle. Taken
by the far-fetched tales of various locals, he eventually acknowledges,
"a man who embarks on a journey must know when to end it".
Thirty minutes sooner, perhaps?
